I received a letter from a reader upset about my recent Bush bashing. He called this box BS and said it is “about nothing at all.” He didn’t say how he read and got so worked up about nothing at all.

I tried to keep my response civil, but eventually lost control and said if my mother were like him I’d have killed myself by now. I feel bad about that – no matter how much my readers hate me, I love you more. So, for my friend and reader, “the gaucho republican,” today’s box will be about “something.”

This has been absolutely the nicest Santa Barbara winter since I came here half a decade ago.

Thursday’s forecast: The weather remains clear and bright, unlike our President. The gaucho republican learns that the weatherhuman is definitely bullshit, but always gets the last word.
