I sat down well prepared to fail a midterm yesterday. I had a solid 40 minutes total study time for the quarter under my belt and the effects of a two-hour nap lingered in my clouded mind.
“Put everything away but a pen, blue book and calculator,” the TA said.
“Two out of three ain’t bad,” I thought.
Then came the miracle-“Oh yeah, the midterm has been switched to a take-home,” the TA said.
I haven’t been that pleasantly surprised since my parole officer missed a meeting with me.
“Maybe she’s dead,” I thought then. But she was not dead. We lived to meet another day. And so shall I and that goddamned test.
Tuesday’s forecast: The doom clouds have passed over, but will return Wednesday. Zero percent chance of additional studying in the next 48 hours.
