Chances are you spent the weekend studying for midterms. If you didn’t, you had more fun than me. But before you consider hitting the books again, take a minute and answer the following questions:

1) Do you really care about the referential dimensions of Italian neorealism?

2) Will you ever need to know the finer details of the reproductive cycle of a fungus?

3) If words and theories are merely social constructs, is it really that important to read Chapter 13 of your sociology textbook? Isn’t it just a symbolic gesture?
