A male suspect stole an unknown amount of cash from the Santa Barbara Bank and Trust in Magnolia Center Monday morning.

The suspect, who displayed a “chrome semi-automatic handgun,” entered the bank around 11:10 a.m. and demanded money from the teller, according Santa Barbara Sheriff Lt. Jim Dollar. The suspect was last seen running south on Cinderella Avenue.

Witnesses described the suspect as a 6’1″ – 6’4″ white male, between 19 and 30 years old, with a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a gray ski mask, a gray T-shirt, and baggy tan or khaki pants.

“Witnesses described a suspect that matched the description get into a red 1990s SUV after the robbery,” Dollar said. “There was a second white male driving.”

The Sheriff’s Dept. Criminal Investigations Division is conducting the investigation and requests that anyone with information contacts them at 681-4150.
