Yesterday, Students for Justice in Palestine erected a wall outside Girvetz Hall in order to draw attention to the condition of the Palestinian people, along with presenting a petition asking the school to boycott businesses that are involved in human rights violations within the region.

SJP is an on-campus group that aims to promote justice for the Palestinian people, focusing on upholding human rights and calling for liberation and self-determination. The group, which is composed of students, faculty and staff, has been calling for the Associated Students Senate to divest from companies that are either involved in the oppression of the Palestinian people or have supported segregation within the region. A resolution condemning Islamophobic hate speech within the University of California will also be presented at tonight’s senate meeting.
