LGBTQ Staff hosts ‘Queer Book Club’
The LGBTQ Staff & Faculty Collective is hosting “Queer Book Club” on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 12-1 p.m. at the Student Engagement & Leadership Conference Room 2293 in the Student Resource Building.
“Queer Book Club is a chance for staff and faculty to read, chat, and celebrate queer stories together,” the Shoreline description read. “Our February book is The Price of Salt, a 1952 lesbian romance novel by Patricia Highsmith.”
A.S. Media Center hosts ‘Photography 101’
The Associated Students (A.S.) Media Center and Creative Media Unit is hosting “Photography 101” on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 2-3 p.m. at the A.S. Media Center Building 434 in room 141.
“This one-hour session will cover the basic setup of the camera, understanding aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, as well as tips for shooting indoors and outdoors. Please feel free to share your unique photography interests,” the Shoreline description read.
Snacks, tea and coffee will be provided for attendees.

The Interdisciplinary Humanities Center (IHC) is hosting a free screening of “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 8-10 p.m. at Isla Vista Theater.

The Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD) is hosting “QT Winter Carnival” on Friday, Feb. 20, from 12-3 p.m. at the Lot 22 Lawn.
“Meet and support the QT-centered organization of QTLC, play carnival-style games, and build community! Whether you are looking to get involved, seeking resources, or looking for a good time, all are welcome to attend the event,” the post read.
RHA hosts ‘Lunar New Year: Fortune and Crafts’
The Residential Housing Association (RHA) is hosting “Lunar New Year: Fortune and Crafts” on Friday, Feb. 20, from 4-6 p.m.

Walter H. Capps Center hosts ‘Catherine L. Albanese and American Religious History’
The Walter H. Capps Center is hosting “Catherine L. Albanese and American Religious History: A Symposium” on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the McCune Conference Room at Humanities and Social Sciences Building room 6020.
“Albanese joined UCSB’s Department of Religious Studies in 1987 and retired in 2010. Her research on American metaphysical spirituality has reshaped the field of American religious history. She is past president of the American Academy of Religion and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences,” the Shoreline description read.

VSA hosts ‘Phở King 2026’
The Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) is hosting “Fast and Phở King Furious” on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 5-9 p.m. at Campbell Hall.
“Phở King is an annual male pageant hosted by UCSB’s Vietnamese Student Association since 2002. The original purpose of the Phở King was to present an image of Asian males that did not coincide with common stereotypes of Asian Americans in mainstream media,” the Shoreline description read.
Department of Recreation hosts ‘Women’s Climbing Night’
The Department of Recreation is hosting “Women’s Climbing Night” on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center Climbing Wall.

IHC is hosting a screening of the film “Little Women” with trivia on Monday, Feb. 23, from 8-10:45 p.m. at the Theater & Dance West building.
“[Greta Gerwig] revives Little Women as a coming-of-age movie, a marriage comedy, a sibling-rivalry drama – and perhaps most interestingly of all, an autofictional manifesto for writing your own life,” the Shoreline description read.
