The cliff fall was reported via an X post from Santa Barbara County Fire Department’s Public Information Officer account. His name and further details on his condition are not known at this time. The Nexus was unable to determine if the victim was a student.

In response to the incident, Second District Supervisor of Santa Barbara County Laura Capps released a statement on social media.

“I am praying for this person’s full recovery. My gratitude goes to the first responders who acted swiftly and with great care. We all feel the pain and trauma of these all-too-common cliff falls,” the statement read. “I met with [UC Santa Barbara’s] new Chancellor [Dennis Assanis] just yesterday to discuss this very issue. He is in full agreement that we cannot risk one more life.”
