For Halloween weekend, Isla Vista Foot Patrol places a noise ordinance prohibiting parties in Isla Vista from Oct. 26 to Nov. 4. Students have alternative options to celebrate the holiday at a variety of campus and community events, such as visiting pumpkin patches, concerts, bars and more in the Santa Barbara area.

Through Oct. 31, Big Wave Dave’s Pumpkin Patch is open for business, offering a variety of pumpkins, colorful corn and pumpkin carving kits. Admission is free, and tours start at $35 per person.

Additionally, on Oct. 30 and 31, Isla Vista Recreation and Park District will be holding a free “pumpkin patch adventure” in Anisq’Oyo’ Park from 7-11 p.m. There, participants can earn a free pumpkin by interacting with actors to reveal a spooky storyline. The event also includes a blacklight art installation, silent disco, carnival games and a photo booth.

For music lovers, on Oct. 30, Candlelight Concerts is holding a special Halloween-themed performance. A string quartet will be playing Halloween classics, such as “Thriller” by Michael Jackson and the theme from “The Exorcist.” The concert will be lit by candlelight, making for a multi-sensory concert experience. Tickets are $45-59 per person.

For a more frightful Halloweekend, Santa Barbara Ghost Tours offers a variety of different tour types, including a wine-tasting tour, ghost storytelling circles and the traditional walking tour. Tours start at $30 per person. 

For those 21 and older, the Zombie Bar Crawl on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., consists of over 10 bars and nightclubs open to those with tickets. Tickets are $15-35 per person, and participants should plan to meet at the check in bar, EOS Lounge, from 7-10 p.m.

Also for ages 21+ is “Rave to the Grave,” a rooftop rave event also held downtown on Oct. 31. Featuring DJ Thee-O, the rave encourages spooky rave-wear attire. The venue will be selling drinks and says to expect eerie visuals and house beats. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door.
