Approximately 150 UC Santa Barbara graduate students marched to Cheadle Hall Monday afternoon, demanding that the university provide a cost of living adjustment. Graduate students have been organizing the demands since Jan. 21, when students held a “sick-out” in support of UC Santa Cruz.
The actions at UCSB are also part of a greater UC-wide cost of living adjustment movement, as UCSC graduate students began a wildcat strike Monday morning, indefinitely stopping office hours, teaching classes and grading until the university agrees to their demands.
