A 20-year-old UC Santa Barbara student and Isla Vista resident fell off of the rooftop of an I.V. home early Sunday morning, according to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office.
Santa Barbara County Fire and American Medical Response personnel responded to 948 Camino Del Sur around 1:30 a.m., according to Santa Barbara Fire County Dispatch reports.
The male victim was on the roof of the residence taking a photograph of his friends when he fell about 15 feet to the ground, according to a witness statement in an Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office (SBSO) press release.
He was breathing on his own when law enforcement arrived and was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, SBSO spokesperson Kelly Hoover said in a press release.
Alcohol may have been a “contributing factor,” according to Hoover.
