Last Wednesday, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office identified Quiana Edwards as the suspect in the Isla Vista stabbing case from Oct. 7.

Edwards, a 22-year-old member of a Ventura Avenue gang, is suspected of stabbing a total of five victims in a fight on the 6600 block of Abrego Road. Currently, Edwards is wanted for a felony assault with a deadly weapon and for criminal gang enhancement; if jailed, Edwards’ bail would amount to $130,000.

The night of the stabbing — which occurred Oct. 7 at 12:40 a.m. — Isla Vista Foot Patrol reported to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, where two stabbing victims were being treated. Over the course of the investigation, three more victims came forward and were treated for wounds.

Witness reports described the suspect as a Hispanic woman around 20 years of age, who wore tied black hair as she was leaving the fight and stood at about 5’6” and weighed between 140 to 150 pounds.

The stabbing victims were released from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and no arrests have yet been made.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s office urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of Edwards to call (805) 681-4171.
