I write to protest the advertisements for Monday’s workers’ rally. While I am sympathetic to their cause, equating a U.S. state governor to Adolf Hitler is a ridiculous hyperbole. A democratically elected political leader who sought to change the right of public workers to collectively bargain is not equivalent to one of the 20th century’s worst mass-murderers.

Why turn to irresponsible vilification? Why, if a usually conservative person like myself supported their position based on its plain argument, is anything more than argument necessary? I might have even attended the rally, but will not, due to the organizers’ insensible presentation of a sensible issue.
