The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department will discuss possible solutions for county jail overcrowding during a meeting at the Santa Maria City Hall’s Council Chamber tonight.

The forum is partly in response to residents voting against increasing the county sales tax to fund a new North County Jail in last November’s election. Santa Maria Pro Tempore Alice Patino will lead the meeting from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.

Patino will record community member commentary and deliver the list to Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown.
