A 23-year old man was stabbed several times by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend while anchored at sea Sunday.

According to police, it is believed that Alan Joseph Farren, age 27, snuck aboard a boat owned by the new boyfriend of his former girlfriend and attacked the man. The police are currently searching for Farren and have asked the public for any information regarding his whereabouts. The victim was taken to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with several stab wounds.

Farren allegedly convinced someone to row him to the boat, which was moored off East Beach. Farren then climbed aboard the vessel and proceeded to attack the man. After being stabbed several times, the victim leaped off the boat and swam to a dingy. Farren followed and demanded the victim row him to shore, or else be killed.

Farren is described as a 6-foot tall white male, with short brown hair, blue eyes and a full beard. The 240-pound man also has a sword tattooed on his right forearm, the name Robin tattooed on his right shoulder and another tattoo on his neck.

Police have obtained information that Farren was recently seen camping at the beach near the skate park called Skater’s Point and in boats moored in the harbor.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Santa Barbara Investigative Division at (805) 897-2335.
