A 59-year-old inmate was found dead in his cell at Santa Barbara County’s Main Jail early Wednesday morning.

Custody Deputies of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Dept. discovered the unresponsive inmate at 2:50 a.m. and responded by calling an emergency medical team, according to a press release. The medics attempted lifesaving procedures to no avail, and Patrick William Plamondon was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Santa Barbara resident was booked in the jail after violating a restraining order. The Coroner’s Bureau is currently investigating the cause of his death, but no indications of foul play were found.
