The Muslim Student Association has not made a sufficient response to David Horowitz’s ad regarding the inauspicious origins of the MSA. In claiming Islam is a peaceful religion, they have ignored the truth that many of the Islamic people, like those in Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan – or anyone calling for bloody jihads – obviously do not agree with them. What the MSA should do – both to clear its name and to further the object of peace – is to distance itself from violence and loudly, publicly and unequivocally condemn the violence and terrorism of al-Qaeda, Hamas and all other groups that perpetrate crimes in the name of Islam. Well, MSA – what are you waiting for?

Being there is no such connection, the MSA is just as in need of distancing itself from Al-Qaeda and Hamas as any other group on campus.
