Editor, Daily Nexus,

I wish to express my thanks and appreciation to the young woman who called 9-1-1 for me last Wednesday afternoon near the bus circle. My life was saved by last-resort methods onboard the ambulance. Five minutes later and I would have died. It doesn’t get more serious. I couldn’t be more thankful. I’m sorry you were made late to a meeting. Your self-sacrifice in that was most admirable.

I’m just a Christian, disabled “old guy” now, but in the 1990s I was Isla Vista’s guitar repairer (apprenticed and certified luthier) for half of the bands, student musicians and the homeless. To me, people helping each other makes life worthwhile. God bless you, and I hope your life is beautiful.

I’m okay; the crisis was a bizarre reaction to maybe my diet or medication and probably caused no permanent damage. However, it profoundly uplifted my faith in God and fellow Americans.
