The A.S. Isla Vista Tenants’ Union (IVTU), whose mission is to keep the residents of I.V. educated about their rights and responsibilities, has not produced enough visible results over the past year to deserve the $1-per-quarter lock-in fee it is requesting to reaffirm. The union has done little to fight the general dissatisfaction one feels when living in I.V. as a result of exorbitant rent, shady landlords and typically poor living conditions. Until we see concrete changes, the Nexus strongly opposes this reaffirmation.
