The A.S. Environmental Affairs Board (EAB), once an aggressive activist organization, now does little to fulfill its mission to protect, preserve and enhance the natural outdoor environment at UCSB. The Shoreline Preservation Fund, with its locked-in grant-giving power, along with A.S. Recycling, takes care of the practical side of environmentalism, while other groups like the Surfrider Foundation fulfill the activist side. As a result, the Nexus strongly opposes the $0.25-per-quarter lock-in fee reaffirmation for EAB.
