In the past, elected A.S. internal vice presidential candidates who did not possess knowledge of A.S. parliamentary procedure and the A.S. By-Laws at the time of their election have performed poorly when in office. This is why Students’ Party candidate Andrea Wells, whose command of both will help her succeed in the position of A.S. internal vice president, has our endorsement.
Though Student Unity Now candidate Travis Heard possesses the skills of a born leader and has done impressive things in the past year with A.S. Program Board, Wells’ current involvement with the A.S. Legal Resource Center and Legislative Council seemed to best fit what the position of internal vice president calls for. While an intricate knowledge of the inner workings of Leg Council is lacking in the other candidates, Wells understands the system and its need for improvements in a way that we feel will benefit A.S.
