John Kerry’s wife was supposed to speak on campus yesterday, but she didn’t. In the afternoon her press people said the appearance was cancelled because of inclement weather. Wow. Good to know the Kerrys won’t let anything stand between them and the White House, unless it’s waining a wittle bit.

By evening they were saying Mrs. Kerry cancelled because of illness. I guess she realized that the rain could clear up tomorrow, but a case of “Don’t-want-to-go-to-UCSB-itis” lasts as long as you want.

Thursday’s forecast: I forgive Mrs. Kerry, because the rain got me sick Wednesday, too. Bad case of “Can’t-put-the-bong-down-itis.”
