A yet unidentified man robbed a branch of the Santa Barbara Bank & Trust on Thursday, Jan. 23 at about 3:30 p.m.
The bank, located at 7078 Marketplace Dr. in the Camino Real Marketplace at the intersection of Storke Road and Hollister Avenue, did not disclose the amount of money the alleged thief stole. According to a report from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, the man approached a teller and presented a note demanding cash. He did not brandish a weapon.
Witnesses described the alleged thief as a white male, 40 years of age or older. He was about 6 feet 2 inches tall and between 180 and 190 pounds, and carried a briefcase. He was last seen running east through the marketplace’s parking lot.
