This week, UCSB students have the opportunity to make sure they will have a choice about the continuation of programs sponsored by the Office of Student Life. There is no doubt that severe budget cuts are coming, and no question that student services are going to be reduced. Yes, registration fees are increasing, but none of those dollars are coming to OSL. They are going to pay for campuswide budget cuts that have already happened.

The Office of Student Life is sponsoring a ballot initiative to provide funding for student-initiated social events open to all and to save the Leadership Exchange and Access Program, the Freshman Experience Course and first-year programs. We need your signatures to make sure the student voice will be heard.

Please sign the petition available in many locations on campus this week, and at the Office of Student Life in SAASB.
