Like, Your Tube Top is Too Big
At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, Isla Vista Foot Patrol officers at the intersection of Sabado Tarde Road and Camino Corto observed a 19-year-old male staggering westbound on Sabado Tarde.
The suspect was weaving as much as five feet from side to side, and about 50 feet from the intersection, he staggered to his right and fell into a parked car. A male friend tried to support him during part of the walk. The suspect’s tube top had fallen to around his waist and his net stockings had a hole in the thigh area.
Officers determined that the suspect was intoxicated and arrested him for public intoxication. The suspect mumbled that he wanted to go home. Officers had him sit on the curb where he fell asleep while waiting for the transporting van. When the van arrived, the transporting officer asked the suspect if he was going to get sick. He replied “no,” and then vomited all over the street when the officer assisted him to his feet.
The suspect was transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was housed pending sobriety.
Round and Round the Mulberry Bush…
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, IVFP officers patrolling Camino del Sur at Trigo Road observed a 20-year-old female standing in the street.
The suspect was stumbling and staggering in circles as she tried to drink from a bottle of Gatorade. Each time she tried to drink, she would stumble in circles while her friends laughed at her.
When officers contacted the suspect, she told them this was the first time she had drank and that she had been drinking Jack Daniel’s.
The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where she was housed pending sobriety.
That Was Easy
At approximately 11:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, IVFP officers at the corner of Camino Pescadero and Del Playa Drive observed a 20-year-old male walking southbound on Camino Pescadero, yelling and cussing.
A friend walking with the suspect tried to calm him down. When officers contacted the suspect they could immediately smell the odor of the alcohol. They told the suspect he had too much to drink, and he said, “Yes.”
The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was housed pending sobriety.
Anybody Home?
At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, IVFP officers patrolling the intersection of Segovia Road and Embarcadero del Norte noticed a 20-year-old female trip and fall into a fence.
An officer approached the suspect, identified himself as an officer of the law and asked her to stop. The suspect ignored him. The officer followed her and repeated himself four times. When the suspect finally stopped, the officer noticed that she had vomited on herself.
The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where she was housed pending sobriety.
That’s Just Pitiful
At approximately 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, IVFP officers on bicycle patrol on the 6600 block of Abrego Road observed a 52-year-old male suspect walking eastbound.
Officers watched as he staggered, lost his balance and fell between two parked vehicles. Deputies contacted the suspect, at which point he urinated on himself.
The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was housed pending sobriety.
Family Support
At approximately 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, officers patrolling the 6600 block of Sabado Tarde noticed a 20-year-old female using her 15-year-old sister for support as she walked down the street.
Officers contacted the suspect and asked her how much she had to drink. She said, “enough,” and that she shouldn’t be driving, but was going to see if her car was okay.
Officers arrested the suspect for public intoxication, and transported her to Santa Barbara County Jail, where she was housed pending sobriety. Her sister was held until a guardian came to pick her up.
