Check This Hand Signal

At approximately 1:26 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, Isla Vista Foot Patrol officers patrolling the 6600 block of Pasado Road in a vehicle observed a 21-year-old male walking eastbound.

As the officers drove past the suspect, he yelled, “Fuck you.” The officers looked in their rearview mirror and observed the suspect “flipping them off” with both hands.

The officers contacted the suspect and noticed he had slurred speech and trouble maintaining his balance.

The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was housed, pending sobriety.

Lost Lightweight

At approximately 1:01 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, IVFP officers patrolling the 6700 block of Del Playa Drive observed an 18-year-old male having difficulty walking in a straight line.

The officers approached the suspect and asked him where he lived. The suspect replied, and was then asked to estimate how far he was from home. He said, “About one and a half blocks.” The suspect was only two houses down from the address he gave the officers. Officers asked the suspect how many beers he had consumed and he said, “Five beers.” The suspect was then asked if five beers “was a lot for him” and he replied, “It is.”

The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was housed, pending sobriety.

FT or FB?

At approximately 9:50 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, IVFP officers patrolling the 6500 block of Del Playa Drive observed a 19-year-old male walking westbound, then turning around and walking eastbound.

The suspect lost his balance and fell to the ground. Officers approached the suspect and asked him to estimate the time. The suspect said it was “about midnight.” He was then asked where he was going and he replied, “home to FT.” He then pointed west and said, “Naw, I mean Fontainebleu.”

The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was housed, pending sobriety.

Dirty Girl

At approximately 12:22 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, IVFP officers patrolling the intersection of Camino Pescadero and Del Playa Drive observed a 19-year-old female rolling around in the grass by a bush.

Officers approached the suspect and tried to get her to stand up. Officers noticed she was dirty and covered with dry grass. She was moist with sweat and could not stand without support.

The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where she was housed, pending sobriety.
