On Thursday, Jan. 12, five local bands in the UCSB and Isla Vista area competed in the annual Battle of the Bands. In years past, the winner has earned a spot to perform as the opening act at UCSB’s own Extravaganza. This year, the winning act gets time to record a three-song demo at Rose Lane Studio in Carpenteria. The bands wowed fans with psychedelic sounds and groovy tunes, as Four Closure was deemed victorious.
