To say that the events of the past few weeks have been unprecedented would be a severe understatement. The global outbreak of COVID-19, in a remarkably short amount of time, has altered life as we know it and will certainly leave a lasting impact on our generation.

College students in particular find themselves in a unique position. Many of us have had to grapple with difficult decisions over the past few weeks, had to roll with the punches of the ever-changing educational (not to mention global) landscape and had monumental and seemingly guaranteed events plucked from our grasps in an instant.

As young people, it is our responsibility and our prerogative to do our part in flattening the curve. It is not only for our own good but for the good of those we love too. Thus, we at the Daily Nexus have decided that continuing to print our weekly issues would be irresponsible and would fly in the face of the information and guidelines we have been actively sharing with our community. We will cease printing immediately and indefinitely.

Though we will not print a weekly paper throughout the duration of this pandemic, we are committed to providing current and factual information about COVID-19 and staying up to date with content from all sections of the Nexus, digitally. Our editorial staff is hard at work, both in Isla Vista and beyond, to keep our community well informed during these tumultuous times.

I wish you all health and safety. If you need us, you can find us here

Stay well,
