Magic Lantern Presents: Midsommar

Beatle-Mania!

A.S. Program Board will be showing “Yesterday” at I.V. Theater on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Worry not about the 7 p.m. start time; there will be a second screening of the show starting at 10 p.m. This is A.S. Program Board’s second free Tuesday screening of the quarter; other upcoming titles include “The Farewell” on Oct. 15, “Annabelle Comes Home” on Oct. 22 and a student-choice holiday film. Only a UCSB Access Card is necessary for entrance — take advantage of the $0 admission fee and stock up on snacks at 7-Eleven. 

Fair Trade Chocolate Tasting

Ever have a hankering for a chocolate bar but absolutely insist that it must be ethically produced? Well, have we got news for you! The Isla Vista Food Co-Op will be hosting a fair-trade chocolate tasting on Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. Come out to I.V.’s favorite grocery locale at 6575 Seville Road to try some of the finest ethical chocolates this city has to offer.

Mamma Mia! Auditions

Can’t let go of the child actor dreams? Then Shrunken Heads Production Company has an offer that you can’t turn down! The production company is currently looking to fill over ten roles for its latest show, debuting this Fall Quarter. Auditions will take place from Oct. 4-6 depending on roles; rehearsals will take place three days a week and up to five times a week in the weeks leading up to opening night. No dance skills are necessary!

Are you a lifelong yogi? Looking to try it out? Somewhere in between? Yoga Isla Vista will be hosting a community yoga class on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 5:30 p.m. Located at 900 Embarcadero Del Mar Suite D, the class will cost between $5-15, operating on a sliding scale. If you are new to yoga — or at least to Yoga Isla Vista — please make an online account when filling your slot. Returners still must sign up online. Snacks and tea will be provided by the Isla Vista Food Co-Op. Kick off the quarter on a high note by finding your center.
