This cute little bakery is located in the Camino Real Marketplace between Blenders in the Grass and Sushi Ai. It is a five minute bus ride away from campus and the perfect place to stop on your way to Albertson’s. The only unfortunate aspect about this bakery is its semi-hidden location. I’ve been to the Camino Real Marketplace multiple times and only recently came across this hidden gem when I decided to stroll by all the shops to pass the time.

The atmosphere is warm and casual. The workers greet you at the door and are ready to help you. As for the decor, the walls are currently decorated with adorable handmade Easter art; I assume their aesthetic changes with each new season.

Anna’s Bakery consists of the usual baked goods: cakes, muffins, brownies and cookies. If you’re looking for a local place to buy a cake or pastry for your roommate’s birthday or other special occasions, Anna’s has you covered. They also have a wide variety of donuts for when you need to relieve those on-the-go sweet treat cravings.

The donuts come in all varieties, including a lot of classic styles that you don’t see very much at other donut places. I personally fell in love with the custard donuts, which are actually filled with a thick whipped cream; my taste buds were not disappointed, though.

If you’re not looking for donuts or other baked goods, Anna’s also has a brunch/lunch menu with sandwiches, soups, salads and bagels. It’s normal to see families eating there in the mornings and afternoons.

I think everyone looking for a little change of scenery should give it a try. Spread the word and give Anna’s the hype it deserves!
