In an attempt to accommodate all of the neon and spandex-wearing festivalgoers and their desires, the HARD Summer Music Festival is returning to Fairplex in Pomona, CA for 2015. Taking on its 8th year, the festival will take place August 1st and 2nd with headliners including The Weeknd and Jack Ü.

While promoters and creators of the event emphasize that HARD Summer is not a rave but a festival, the attendees’ outfits tend to suggest they feel otherwise. To the mild defense of the expected purple wigs and glittery bras, the spectrum of electronic musicians that fill the weekend are sure to put one in a raving mood.

Considering that the crème de la crème of DJs will be in attendance, perfect sets are to be guaranteed as the various artists compete for crowds and bragging rights. Representing the ladies in the industry, the Australian native, Anna Lunoe is expected to accompany her set with her sweet vocals on Saturday. Pretend EDM fans will continue their Saturday jumping and snapchatting in the crowds of Djemba Djemba, Odesza and The Glitch Mob before The Weeknd takes a mellow, yet passionate route to end the night.

The hype from Saturday will not die as the festival comes down to its final 24 hours on Sunday. As Tumblr-perfect as it would be to see the massive crowd hold hands and simultaneously lip sync to Branchez’ “High How You Are” remix, such serenity is not characteristic of HARD Summer, and that is just what the fans love. Instead, things will get groovy with Mr. Carmack, everyone’s suppressed inner-Belieber will unveil itself when Jack Ü drops “Where Are Ü Now” and hair will swing in every direction with Chromeo and Toro y Moi’s “Come Alive.”

For the EDM newcomers who may need a brief break from the jersey club and deep house, or those who simply desire a different way to turn up, a few hip-hop artists shall save the day! The “Throw Sum Mo” duo, Rae Sremmurd, is scheduled to rock the mic and summon off-beat dance routines on Saturday, as well as fellow newcomer, Young Thug. Los Angeles native, ScHoolboy Q is the biggest rap act for Saturday night, so be prepared to shout the lyrics to songs other than “Hands on the Wheel.” Sunday’s hip-hop acts, like Fetty Wap and DJ Mustard & Friends (please be YG), will continue to provide the fun, yet hardcore, beats that please the crowd and inspire other genres.

Ears ringing, bodies sweating and careless about work on Monday are how most will stumble out of Fairplex on August 2nd.
