On Friday, Jan. 30, over 500 participants from schools all over California competed in a 36-hour hackathon, the first annual one held in Corwin Pavilion and surrounding areas. Students designed and programmed unique projects to win prizes such as an Oculus Rift Development Kit and other high-tech gadgets. Outside tents also provided video games for the participants.
