So, Halloween weekend is upon us, and I know who the Weatherhuman is going to haunt.
Somehow, it always has to come down to this. It took penalty kicks to separate them last year, but this time around both programs will need to settle the score in under 110 minutes. With the Big West Tournament’s #1 seed in the balance and bragging rights on the line, it’s hard to imagine how Sunday’s home matchup between UCSB and Central Coast rival Cal Poly could get any bigger. This weekend, the Gauchos (16-5 overall, 6-3 Big West) will aim to avenge these losses as they welcome both the Fullerton Titans (12-9, 3-5) and the Long Beach 49ers (13-5, 6-2) to the Thunderdome. Winners of five of their last six, a healthy UCSB squad is chomping at the bit for a shot at redemption.
In an effort to reel in extra financial compensation for the budget gap, UCSB officials are planning to admit additional out-of-state residents and international students.
Due to heavy traffic and widespread street closures, local buses will suspend their services to and from Isla Vista throughout Halloween weekend.
