Freshman thrower Irene Kujore and redshirt freshman middle distance runner Ryan Martin both qualified in their first seasons in competition. Kujore threw 158-11 feet in the discus, which was good enough for second place in the tournament and fourth place on UCSB’s all-time list. After coming all the way back from a 6-3 deficit to win the first game in the bottom of the seventh, the UCSB softball team utilized another complete-game shutout from freshman Krista Cobb to take the doubleheader against Cal State Northridge last Saturday at Campus Diamond.
