Campus police are currently investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred on university property this past weekend.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning in an unspecified dorm room of the Santa Catalina Residence Hall, formerly referred to as Francisco Torres. The woman visiting the residence hall was allegedly assaulted after the suspect had performed oral copulation on her and then tried to have sex with her.

According to police, the alleged victim, who is not a UCSB student, refused immediate medical treatment and declined to press charges against the suspect.

The incident remains under investigation by the University of California, Santa Barbara Police Dept. Officers were not available for comment as of press time.
