The UCSB surf team performed well in both rain and shine this past weekend, proving its place in the top ranks by dominating the National Scholastic Surfing Association’s event at Huntington Beach.
One of the most exciting parts about being a geek is new hardware and new electronics to play with. Whether it be a new Nintendo DS with the built in Wi-Fi that lets me play Mario Kart with seven other people or a new Wii, so I can kill some Nazis in Call of Duty 3, I just cannot satiate my desire for new tech toys.
After undergoing construction for more than a year, the new Student Resource Building will open its doors to the UCSB community tomorrow.

I must disagree with the letter you printed Friday (“Shoebat Paints Unflattering Portrait of World’s Muslims,” Daily Nexus, Feb. 9). That letter said that Shoebat had given a “negative, hateful message” that “painted all Muslims with a very broad – and very negative – brush.”
I want to elaborate on a subject Walid Shoebat touched upon in his talk last Wednesday. Shoebat never made any blanket statements about all Muslims or “compared the Muslim community to Nazis” (“Shoebat Paints Unflattering Picture of World’s Muslims,” Daily Nexus, Feb. 9).
