This proposition requires that revenue from a tax on motor vehicle fuel be only used for transportation project. Though roads need improvement, they are not California’s biggest priorities. The state is overdue for a large-scale natural disaster. This proposition would fix levies that are not properly equipped for handling earthquakes and floods. It also protects California’s vital supply of drinking water. Repaired levees could also prevent the loss of life due to mudslides, earthquakes and floods. The Nexus endorses Prop 1E.
Placing GPS devices on felony sex offenders will cost the state millions. It is also a completely ineffective way of reducing sexual assault.
