This proposition assures California voters that everyone can run for a state office without having to take money from special interest groups. Unfortunately, the money would come from a 0.2 percent tax on all incorporated California businesses. Besides being unfair to businesses, this proposition requires the state to continually match privately funded candidates, resulting in a ridiculously expensive process.

The Nexus opposes Prop 89.
