Men’s Tennis: Gauchos Win Season Openers

The #67 UCSB men’s tennis team began the 2005 season by defeating Claremont Mudd and the University of San Francisco on Saturday. Santa Barbara started the day by sweeping the Stags 7-0. UCSB began on a roll, earning the doubles point by winning all three matches.

SB Music Scene Feature Neglects I.V. LIVE Efforts

Although I offer my hearty thanks to Nikki Moore for Friday’s ode to the local live music scene (“Stayin’ Alive in the SB Live Music Scene,” Daily Nexus, Jan. 28), I am extremely disappointed at the total lack of even a cursory nod to the Isla Vista scene and particularly to the tireless efforts by the producers of I.V. LIVE to offer quality live performances every week right here in Isla Vista.

4 Police Depts. To Hold Q&A Session in I.V.

Isla Vista residents accustomed to answering to the police will get a chance to ask some questions of their own at tonight’s town hall meeting. In conjunction with the Associated Students Commission on Public Safety (COPS), the I.V. Foot Patrol will be hosting a two-hour law enforcement town hall meeting in Embarcadero Hall beginning at 7 tonight.
