By the end of this week, the #13 UCSB women’s volleyball team will have played three matches in three states over a span of five days. Santa Barbara will play Utah State tonight at 6 at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah, and will travel to Moscow, Idaho, to compete in Idaho’s Memorial Gym Saturday night at 7.
If you can’t sit through the “Nutcracker,” a night at the ballet is probably not for you. But, if that ballet is actually an energetic meld of modern dance, classical ballet, street dancing, musical theatre and folk dancing, it might be a little easier to fork out that hard-earned money and watch for two hours.
In the weeks before this year’s Oct. 18 voter registration deadline, students may find it nearly impossible to walk across campus without being reminded to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election. In preparation for the Nov. 2 elections, the UCSB College Republicans, the Campus Democrats and Associated Students have joined forces in a non-partisan mass voter registration drive.
I am proud to say that I am part of the greek system, which has given me many fond memories and lifelong friends. If you are not a greek, I am sure you know someone who is and value that bond just as much as any you may make in college.
There I was, engulfed by a sea of Dodger Blue in the left field pavilion. I was a rarity, one of those guys that just doesn’t belong at Dodger Stadium. I wore my Halloween colors with pride: Giants hat, Giants shirt and pipes defacing Dodger Blue.

Ever heard of AXO billiards, Kappa Dash or Beta softball? These are philanthropy events held every year by greek houses. They use their money to help fund these events. They contribute to these events because they want to, not because it is required.
As I sat watching the opening of “Shark Tale,” I couldn’t help but be reminded of “Finding Nemo”- more specifically, the scene in which Nemo, is christened “shark bait” by his elder fish friends.
A dedication ceremony will be held today at 10 a.m. to celebrate the impending completion of a 9600 sq. foot addition to and 2000 sq. feet of renovation of Kohn Hall.
Many people mistakenly believe women such as myself, an active member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, pay for friends. I pay for my rent, utilities, food and expenses anyone would pay to throw one of those designated parties.
