Parking Plan Put Off ‘Til June
The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to postpone its decision to reject or approve the proposed Isla Vista parking plan until June 1, in response to a large turnout of concerned I.V. residents. Of the 80 I.V. community members who attended the meeting, 14 spoke against passing the proposed parking plan, 16 urged the board to delay their decision until the plan could be revised, and 23 spoke in favor of passing the parking plan.

UCSB Offers New Queer Studies Minor
A new minor in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and queer studies was recently added to the academic pool at UCSB. The university officially sanctioned the LGBTQ minor last week, and students can sign up for it immediately.
Olsen Trial Delayed by Defense Motion
At a hearing Tuesday morning, a Santa Barbara County judge agreed to postpone the jury trial of Slava Olsen until August 2004. Olsen faces felony charges of involuntary manslaughter, assault with intent to create bodily injury and battery for allegedly causing the death of 19-year-old Santa Barbara City College student Bradley Jones.

More than 60 students pledged to donate bone marrow at an on-campus registration drive yesterday, and more will have the chance today. Lambda Phi Epsilon fraternity will be in front of the UCen from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. as part of the Asians for Marrow Matches bone marrow drive.
