Track and Field: Men Finish 14th, Women 16th

The UCSB men’s and women’s track and field team competed in the Cal/Nevada Championships held at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The men placed 14th overall and the women took 16th. The Gauchos’ top runners did not compete in the meet, staying home to rest for next weekend’s Big West Challenge Cup at UCSB.

I wish to make note of the blatant racism shown in Loren Williams’ “The Survival of the Fittest for Dummies” article (Daily Nexus, March 30) published in Tuesday’s issue. His expressed belief that the United States needs fewer Caucasians is a clear example of the double standards that exist with racism in society today.
