Cyclist Strikes Car in I.V. Crossroad

An 18-year-old woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after she rode her bike into a car while she was entering the intersection of Embarcadero del Mar and Pardall Road. Shortly after 9:00 p.m., Darci Wartz was riding her bike northbound on Embarcadero Del Mar. Police and witnesses said Wartz ran the stop sign adjacent to Silvergreens restaurant and struck the front of a white sedan making a left turn from westbound Pardall onto southbound Embarcadero del Mar.

Skultety Suffers Torn ACL

Sometimes bad things just happen to good people. Team sources announced on Tuesday that senior forward Bray Skultety of the UCSB men’s basketball team will miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

One Gets Away, One Gets Arrested After Burglary

One man was arrested and another remains at large after a robbery and armed struggle in an Isla Vista apartment last Thursday. At about 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon, two men allegedly went to an apartment on Del Playa Drive and robbed the 20-year-old man living there, Lt. Tom McKinny of the I.V. Foot Patrol said.
