On Dec. 14, 2003, Plastino was released from active duty as an army reservist. Two weeks ago, he returned to duty at the IVFP office on Pardall Road after eight months in Iraq. He was married six days before his deployment.

I’m writing this letter in response to Ms. Baldwin’s “The State of the State” letter, which appeared in last Friday’s opinion section.
Ms. Baldwin is apparently unhappy with our governor’s running of the state, accusing the governor of simply spouting rhetoric instead of really addressing the issues.
While the recently opened bus line 27 is not yet as popular with riders as the Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District would like, fortifications to the transit gate may help prevent damage by vandals who have repeatedly pummeled it.
