Shoulda Drank That Last Sixth at Home
Friday, February 20, 11:34 p.m. – Officers patrolling the 6500 block of Del Playa Drive observed a 23-year-old man carrying an open liquor bottle and stumbling as he walked. Upon contact, officers noted [[that]] the man “appeared disoriented” and smelled strongly of alcohol.

Police removed a 750-milliliter bottle of Hennessy Cognac from the man’s grasp – which was five-sixths empty – and dumped its contents at the scene.

When asked his name and address, the man kept repeating his name. When asked his age, the man gave his name again. When officers asked the man’s age again, he repeatedly replied “Santa Barbara High School,” and gave his date of birth as “111.”

In addition to his current alcohol-related legal predicament, a background check revealed the man also had two outstanding warrants for not appearing in court.

During processing, the man repeatedly told officers, “I fucked up.”

Despite this regret – which was muttered repeatedly, as well as his other responses to questions – the officers arrested the man for public intoxication and the other outstanding charges, and transported him to the county jail.

Fight with Girlfriend, Window
Saturday, February 21, 12:58 a.m. – Officers patrolling the 6600 block of Trigo Road observed a 21-year-old man who appeared to be involved in an altercation with a woman. When they stopped him to investigate, officers noticed the man’s forehead and right hand were bloody from several cuts. He admitted to being upset with his girlfriend, but said he did not touch her.

He told police he was bleeding because he had been punching the windows of random cars as he walked down the street. The damage was apparently limited to the man’s hand, since officers noted in their report that they did not find any damaged vehicles in the vicinity.

When asked if he had been drinking, the man told officers he drank a 40-ounce can of Coors Light and some raspberry vodka.

Officers also noted the man initially seemed agitated, but calmed down during questioning. After paramedics from Rescue 7 treated his wounds, police arrested him for public intoxication. Police did not report details regarding any change in his attitude once he found out he was headed to the county jail, where he was housed pending sobriety.
