UCSB will follow last year’s strong showing at a major residence hall conference by hosting it this year. Delegations from 42 schools will attend the annual Pacific Affiliates of College and University Residence Halls Conference.

SB Holocaust Exhibit Honors Local Survivors

The Santa Barbara Jewish Federation, in collaboration with UCSB, will open a permanent exhibition to honor Holocaust survivors and refugees in Santa Barbara. The exhibit, titled “Portraits of Survival: Life Journeys During the Holocaust and Beyond,” will be unveiled Nov. 9 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the federation’s headquarters at 524 Chapala St.

Man Seeks to Build Homes On Gaviota Coast

The Santa Barbara County Planning Commission received a proposal to develop homes in the Naples area of the Gaviota coast. The 54-home development proposed by Orange County developer Matt Osgood is the largest proposed development since the Bacara Resort and Spa.
