A crowd of 20 to 30 demonstrators gathered on the front lawn of the Santa Barbara Court House on Friday evening to show its opposition to the recall and to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s candidacy for governor.
UCSB Slips in Southbound Trip

Surfers Compete for Spots on UCSB’s Team
The UCSB Surfing Team weeded out the kooks and avoided the plovers in an open tryout at Sands Beach on Saturday. Approximately 100 surfers showed up to vie for spots in four divisions: men’s shortboard, men’s longboard, women’s shortboard and men’s bodyboard.
