Dining commons in the on- and off-campus residence halls are preparing to hold holiday feasts for next week in honor of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.

Ortega Dining Commons has been decorated in the themes of these holidays and will be serving a holiday meal Dec. 10.

“We try to make students feel like this is their home. Many feel it is their home,” Yuxi Fan, Ortega Dining Commons manager, said. “We try to accommodate them and make them feel comfortable.”

Carrillo Dining Commons was not decorated because its new floor plan makes it difficult to do so, however, its restaurant-style serving centers will be dishing up holiday-themed food items Dec. 10.

“We might not be able to celebrate with decorations, but we’ll be celebrating through food,” Carrillo Dining Commons manager Nick Fuentes said.

Tropicana Gardens is having a sit-down holiday dinner Dec. 9, with three choices of entree. Students will be served a three-course gourmet meal and will have the choice of chicken, beef or vegetarian dinners.
