A vehicular accident that occurred on Thursday at approximately 9 p.m. near the intersection of Storke and Whittier Roads resulted in minor injuries to one driver.

UCSB alumnus Ryan Gras, a witness to the aftermath of the accident, said one vehicle allegedly ran a stop sign, causing a second car to flip and land atop a stone wall at the entrance of Ocean Meadows Golf Course. The driver of the car that flipped was taken to a hospital. However, spokespeople at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital could not confirm that the driver was admitted as a patient.

Sgt. Phil Willis, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s public information officer, said the incident was initially a hit-and-run. However, the driver of the first car turned around and returned to the scene. At the time Willis spoke to the Nexus, no party had been arrested.
