Who Said College Kids Are the Rowdy Ones?

At approximately 2:09 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, Isla Vista Foot Patrol officers patrolling the 6500 block of El Nido Road noticed an intoxicated 24-year-old male being held up by two other subjects. The officers approached the suspect, who told them he was from Vandenburg Air Force Base and was visiting. He was unable to maintain his balance and had a strong odor of alcohol on his person.

The suspect was arrested for public intoxication, but had a “combative attitude” and was uncooperative. At the station, he yelled profanities.

An officer asked the suspect to calm down. In response, he began spitting at the officer and attempted to kick another officer. The suspect continued to yell and swear, at which point the officer called Vandenburg’s Security Forces Office. The security office heard the yelling and swearing and confirmed the suspect’s association with the base.

In an attempt to quiet the suspect, the officer told him he was on the phone with the Air Force Base, and he responded, “Well, fuck my C.O. and everyone else there.”

The suspect was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was housed, pending sobriety.

At approximately 1:29 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, IVFP officers patrolling the 6500 block of Cordoba Road observed an 18-year-old female walking unsteadily

The suspect stumbled onto a car for support, and then began walking and fell onto another car to regain her balance.

The officers approached the suspect, who said she “had a little” to drink. As she was talking to the officers, she fell backwards and had to be caught by deputies.

At the IVFP station, the suspect was unable to maintain her balance as she was sitting in the chair and fell off several times.

The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and was transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where she was housed, pending sobriety.

At approximately 12:28 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, IVFP officers patrolling the Camino Pescardero and Sabado Tarde Road intersection noticed a 19-year-old male holding a clear plastic cup of beer. When officers walked toward the suspect, he attempted to conceal his beer by holding it to the side of his body.

He then began running in order to avoid the citation. He was brought down after a short chase.

The suspect was arrested for delaying arrest and was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.
