At approximately 3:30 p.m. today, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of the kidnapping of a 28-year-old woman from her residence on the 6700 block of Abrego Road in Isla Vista.

Six surveillance camera towers were erected in Isla Vista on non-university owned property in the wake of recent violent crimes and as Deltopia approaches this weekend, in addition to two surveillance cameras placed temporarily on university property at Embarcadero Hall and I.V. Theater.

Suspect Wounds Resident in Confrontation

An unidentified man wearing all black with a green-striped hat and black mask was reported to have broken into a residence with a machete on the 700 block of Camino Del Sur in Isla Vista at approximately 4 p.m. on Monday, according to an emergency email alert.
